About Shiba Inu

Shiba Inu is a cryptocurrency created in August 2020 as an alternative to Dogecoin. It is an Ethereum-based altcoin that features the Shiba Inu hunting dog as its mascot. Shiba Inu is often called "the Dogecoin killer" and ranks in the top ten among all meme cryptocurrencies by market cap.

The paper explains that Shiba Inu was developed to answer the question of what would happen if a cryptocurrency project was 100% run by its community. Shiba Inu is an ERC-20 token, which means it is created on and hosted by the Ethereum blockchain.

The Shiba Inu ecosystem consists of three tokens: Shiba Inu (SHIB), Leash (LEASH), and Bone (BONE).

Shiba Inu is the project's foundational currency. At the same time, Leash represents the other end of the ecosystem's spectrum, with a total supply of only 107,646 tokens compared to the trillions of Shiba Inu tokens. Bone is a governance token that allows token holders to vote on proposals for the Shiba Inu ecosystem. Despite a significant drop in market cap, Shiba Inu remains a popular meme cryptocurrency among investors.
