About NEM

NEM is a platform that is a not a product of any fork and is developed straight from scratch. The programming language used is Java and the objective of this decentralized platform is to provide the much need bridge between private applications and the main NEM chain. Apart from that is has an encrypted and secure messaging platform for communication between users. It is also the first platform to implement delegated harvesting.

It employs a number of features such as Smart Asset System for application management through their special Proof of Importance protocol algorithm complete with Eigentrust++ reputation system with Mosaics. NEM’s Mosaics are customizable assets and work in collaboration with the Eigentrust+++ while being maintained by Namespaces. The importance of a NEM account is not only determined by the amount of coins held but if the account holder transacts over the platform. The more the transaction, the higher the importance level.

Unlike other coins, NEM employs a zero inflation policy in place meaning all the XEM tokens were released at launch.
