About Status

Status is an Ethereum based, open source mobile messaging platform where users can easily interact with other decentralized applications launched on Ethereum platform. It is an easy to use, intuitive interface which acts like a decentralized app browser meant specifically for Ethereum users.

Through the messenger, Status users can easily communicate and if possible transact in real time using SNT tokens because it has its own wallet. This hardware wallet not only supports ETH and other ERC-20 tokens but a wide range of cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin. Status hardware wallet is also the first to implement NFC technology in transaction settlement.

Since Status is blockchain based running on Ethereum, the moment it is launched on a mobile device, it is converted to a light Ethereum node and blocks can even be validated straight from the smart phone. Additionally, since Status is open source meaning DApps are free to list and be run on Status especially if they are based on Mist.
