About Gatechain Token

GateChain, a public blockchain dedicated to asset safety and decentralized exchange, is the brainchild of Gate.io, a global cryptocurrency exchange established in 2013. The native currency of this innovative ecosystem is the GateToken (GT), which serves as the unique exchange token for Gate.io.

The Ecosystem and GT's Role

The comprehensive ecosystem of GateChain includes the mainnet, DEX, GT token, and wallets. These components are designed with an emphasis on enterprise-grade security and efficiency for digital asset storage, issuance, and trading. Launched in March 2020 as Gate.io's official exchange token, GT plays a pivotal role within this ecosystem. It offers users numerous benefits such as VIP-tier escalation, trading fee debits, and exclusive access to events.

Gatechain Supply Dynamics

Initially boasting a circulating supply of 1 billion tokens, GT has since seen 700 million tokens burned. This leaves a maximum circulating supply of 300 million GT tokens as of June 2022.

GateChain has made significant strides in enhancing security against asset theft and loss of private keys through its Testnet versions. The latest version can handle up to 2000 transactions per second (TPS) while supporting hundreds of nodes.

Gatechain Decentralized Trading

The network supports dynamic decentralized trading between various digital currencies. Its Vault Account technology provides a safe clearing mechanism that effectively solves issues of theft and loss of private keys.

Built on a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, GT ensures robustness within the underlying blockchain network while prioritizing on-chain asset security.
